Responsibilities
As a Senior Software Engineer – Train Control at Siemens Mobility, you will:
- Define system requirements and interface specifications for train/vehicle control.
- Design and implement software components for safety-relevant systems.
- Develop control functions using functional block diagrams.
- Create software test specifications, conduct code reviews, and support verification.
- Assist in integration and validation testing for railway systems.
- Analyze diagnostics, fix bugs, and improve vehicle performance with new logic.
- Develop TCMS concepts for locomotives and trains at vehicle level.
- Lead software upgrades and new developments using the V-model approach.
- Conduct training sessions for customers and service teams.
- Act as a technical problem solver, ensuring compliance with global standards.
- Independently manage multiple TCMS subsystems, including block diagram creation.
- Apply brake system expertise in software development (preferred).
Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in train control and rolling stock systems.
- Hands-on experience with TRDP, MVB, WTB, and Ethernet protocols.
- Advanced knowledge of requirement engineering.
- Familiarity with railway safety standards (IEC 50128, IEC 61131, IEC 61375).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
- Strong communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to guide and mentor peers in project execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Science.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in train control, testing, and commissioning.
- Proven track record in rolling stock and railway automation projects.
