Responsibilities
- Lead software development projects for McKinsey’s Periscope platform.
- Design and implement enterprise-scale applications with focus on performance, scalability, and security.
- Write and review high-quality code, approximately 70% of work involves hands-on development.
- Develop and optimize database architectures (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, CosmosDB, Elasticsearch).
- Build and manage cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS) and implement containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Apply modern engineering practices, including design patterns, design-driven development, code refactoring, and CI/CD processes.
- Mentor and coach junior developers to enhance team engineering capability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and business stakeholders, to deliver innovative technology solutions.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies, open-source libraries, and software trends to continuously improve McKinsey’s technology stack.
Skills and Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 6+ years of hands-on software development experience with complex enterprise systems.
- Proficiency in full-stack development, including React.js and Node.js.
- Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, Elasticsearch).
- Hands-on knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with Agile software development and modern engineering practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
