Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Consultant specializing in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), your role will include:
- Designing & Implementing Cloud Solutions: Design and manage highly available, scalable, and fault-tolerant cloud platforms on GCP.
- Cloud Service Management: Deploy and configure key GCP services like Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Storage, BigQuery, and more.
- Containerization & Orchestration: Implement and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes and Docker.
- Infrastructure Automation: Use tools like Terraform and Google Cloud Deployment Manager to automate cloud infrastructure provisioning.
- Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline application deployment and updates.
- Platform Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor platform performance using Cloud Monitoring, Stackdriver, and other tools to optimize performance and reduce costs.
- Security & Compliance: Implement IAM policies, security practices, and work closely with security teams to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2).
- Collaboration: Work with DevOps, development teams, and other stakeholders to align cloud solutions with business objectives and requirements.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation on cloud architecture, configurations, and operational processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- GCP Expertise: Hands-on experience with GCP services like Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Storage, BigQuery, and Cloud Functions.
- Cloud Automation: Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Google Cloud Deployment Manager.
- Containerization: Strong understanding of Docker and Kubernetes for containerized applications and orchestration.
- CI/CD: Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Google Cloud Build.
- Scripting: Proficiency in Python, Bash, Go, or similar languages for automation and infrastructure management.
Experience
- 6+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, with at least 2 years focused on GCP.
- Strong experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and Stackdriver.
- Familiarity with serverless solutions, including Cloud Functions and Cloud Run.
Preferred Certifications
- Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or Google Cloud Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer certification.
- Experience with application performance monitoring (APM) tools like Datadog or New Relic.
