Key Responsibilities
As a Procurement Category Manager – AWS Data Centers, you will:
- Manage procurement for construction and general contractor categories in India.
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to support APAC data center infrastructure.
- Conduct cost optimization via negotiations, value engineering, and vendor analysis.
- Lead RFPs, competitive bidding, and vendor selection for large-scale projects.
- Analyze category data and supply chain trends to shape procurement strategies.
- Build and manage supplier relationships with a focus on delivery, cost, and quality.
- Create supplier scorecards and manage performance evaluations.
- Lead quarterly business reviews with key vendors and stakeholders.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, legal, and operations teams.
- Support the full contract lifecycle, including post-award performance tracking.
- Innovate procurement tools and processes for enhanced efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant experience in construction procurement, RFPs, and contract negotiation.
- Deep understanding of data center infrastructure or mission-critical facilities.
- Strong analytical skills to assess costs, supplier capabilities, and market trends.
- Proven ability to develop pricing models and implement sourcing strategies.
- Experience collaborating across functions and levels in a global organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of market intelligence, labor indexes, and commodity trends.
- Experience with digital procurement and analytics tools like Tableau, PowerBI, Salesforce, and Procore.
- Prior exposure to engineering or infrastructure services environments.
