Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with process partners to gather and analyze software requirements, creating detailed Software Requirements Specification (SRS) documents.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain web-based and on-premise engineering applications using ASP.NET Core, .NET MVC, and C#.
• Test, debug, and optimize cloud-based and on-premise applications to ensure high performance and code quality.
• Deploy and manage applications on Azure App Services, including Azure Functions and IoT integrations.
• Work closely with Caterpillar’s IT infrastructure team to optimize and maintain system performance.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
• Offer post-production support and continuous improvement of engineering software solutions.
• Explore emerging technologies and integrate them to solve complex business challenges effectively.

Required Skills & Expertise

Technical Skills

• Proficient in C#, ASP.NET Core 8.0, .NET MVC, and Entity Framework / LINQ.
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server and Cosmos DB databases.
• Expertise in designing and developing RESTful Web APIs and cloud-native services.
• Proven experience deploying applications on Microsoft Azure cloud platforms including Azure App Services, Azure Functions, and Azure IoT.
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC), version control, and testing/debugging tools.

Soft Skills

• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities with ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Strong communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to stakeholders.
• Collaborative team player with experience mentoring and guiding engineering teams.
• Effective at requirement gathering, documentation, and liaising with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in .NET application development and process automation engineering.
• Experience with enterprise-level system development and compliance is highly preferred.
• Certifications or practical experience in AI/ML technologies is a plus.
• Willingness to relocate for this position if required.
