Key Responsibilities
- Lead an agile software engineering team in developing low-latency core banking applications for global payments and liquidity management.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Technical Architects, and Engineers to design optimal technical solutions and ensure delivery of high-quality code.
- Implement secure, thread-safe, and high-performance code while conducting code reviews, paired programming, and technical mentorship.
- Drive architecture and design reviews, documenting technical decisions and ensuring adherence to non-functional requirements (performance, availability, and security).
- Manage team development, recruitment, performance evaluations, coaching, and mentoring, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
- Assess and mitigate technical risks, vulnerabilities, and compliance issues to maintain operational excellence.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions while recommending alternative approaches for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Coordinate production releases, application support, and operational problem resolution, including out-of-hours support as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Formal training or certification in enterprise software development and extensive applied experience.
- Strong expertise in Java 17+, Spring Boot, OO programming paradigms, multi-threading, messaging technologies, and network programming.
- Hands-on experience with distributed systems, event-driven architecture (Kafka), and relational databases (PostgreSQL, CockroachDB).
- Demonstrated experience in software design, testing, operational stability, and secure system development.
- Proven leadership in managing software engineering teams, mentoring, and performance management.
- Excellent communication, documentation, diagramming, and stakeholder management skills.
- Understanding of the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with low-latency programming techniques (IPC, memory-mapped files, ring buffers).
- Hands-on knowledge of Golang, Rust, or C++, gRPC, and Google Protocol Buffers.
- Familiarity with caching technologies (Redis, Apache Ignite, Hazelcast) and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
- Knowledge of secure system design, cryptography, security protocols (TLS, OAuth/OIDC), and threat modeling.
- Certified Kubernetes and experience with public cloud platforms (AWS).
