Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, VSAM, and IMS DB.
- Support and enhance API development in Mainframe zOS.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Abends and production issues.
- Provide testing and validation support for new services and system integrations.
- Document system functionalities and hand over to cross-technology teams.
- Perform all changes to IMS databases across test and production environments.
- Manage production support for database issues and integration jobs.
- Contribute to cloud infrastructure projects (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to ensure system reliability.
Required Skills
- Strong expertise in Mainframe technologies: COBOL, JCL, CICS, VSAM, IMS DB.
- Solid knowledge of mainframe software development tools and platforms.
- Experience in production support and database management.
- Ability to solve Abends and debug complex issues.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in team-based environments.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Banking and Financial Services domain.
- Knowledge of DB2 database management.
- Cloud exposure: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud environments.
- Understanding of infrastructure migration and hybrid architectures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- 6–15 years of relevant professional experience as a Mainframe Developer or Mainframe Engineer.
