Key Responsibilities

As a Lead Specialist – Retention and Deal Strategy at Mercer, you will:

  • Perform financial analysis and pricing studies across multiple products and services.
  • Conduct cost of sales analysis, pricing analysis, sales growth, and retention analysis.
  • Research competitor pricing and market trends to support commercial strategy.
  • Draft and maintain custom client bill rate schedules.
  • Prepare Client Value Reports and RFP responses to support sales teams.
  • Summarize financial findings for stakeholders, highlighting risks and opportunities.
  • Build financial summaries, including ROI calculations, benchmarking, and commission tracking.
  • Provide ad-hoc analytical support including:
    • Sensitivity analysis
    • Win rate and discount/retention analysis
    • Billing audits and pricing models
    • Contract structuring and negotiation preparation

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 4–6 years’ experience in financial analysis within a large professional services organization.
  • Minimum 2 years in pricing, deal strategy, or financial planning roles.
  • Graduate degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Statistics, or Mathematics.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills.
  • Experience using financial systems and reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of sales analytics, client profitability, and pricing strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced), PowerPoint, and reporting tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Intellectual curiosity with a drive to automate processes and improve efficiency.
