Key Responsibilities
- Execute creative software solutions, system design, development, and troubleshooting beyond conventional approaches.
- Develop secure, high-quality production code; review and debug code written by others.
- Identify opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues and enhance operational stability.
- Lead evaluation sessions with vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess technical solutions and architecture.
- Drive communities of practice in Software Engineering to foster technology adoption and best practices.
- Promote a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect within the team.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
- 5+ years of applied experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages.
- Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs using Java.
- Knowledge of AWS development, EAC, Terraform, cloud design patterns, distributed streaming (Kafka), S3, and PostgreSQL.
- Strong understanding of application security, particularly authentication and authorization.
- Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods (CI/CD).
- Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle and Agile methodologies.
- Experience in cloud-native development and emerging technologies (AI/ML, mobile, etc.).
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and IT systems.
