About the Role

As an Advanced Tax Analyst (VAT/GST) at EY Bengaluru, you’ll be responsible for preparing and filing indirect tax returns across multiple countries, ensuring global compliance, and contributing to process improvements within EY’s Indirect Tax (IDT) function. You’ll join a culturally diverse team supporting more than 30+ countries with plans to expand to 50+ countries, providing high-quality tax solutions to global clients.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare Indirect Tax/VAT returns and file them using country-specific tools.
  • Maintain strong understanding of tax concepts and stay updated with current tax developments.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and participate in cross-training opportunities.
  • Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Deliver high-quality, timely work products in line with EY’s compliance procedures.

Qualifications

  • Graduate/Postgraduate degree, preferably in Commerce.
  • 0–2 years of experience in Accounting or Taxation.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office, and web-based applications.
  • Basic knowledge of ERP systems and their usage in tax processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior exposure to Indirect Tax Compliance for any country.
  • Understanding of Global VAT/GST frameworks and compliance processes.
