Summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Financial Controller – Analyst in Mumbai, Maharashtra to join its Corporate Sector Finance team. This role is ideal for professionals with expertise in financial control, accounting, and reporting, who are passionate about maintaining P&L integrity, balance sheet accuracy, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will collaborate with Controllers, Middle Office, Operations, and Technology teams to prepare and review financial statements across multiple JP Morgan legal entities and geographies. With hands-on experience in general ledger reconciliation, month-end close, and data analysis using Excel, PowerPoint, and visualization tools, you will ensure robust governance, risk management, and accuracy in financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with Controllers groups to prepare and review financial statements across multiple JP Morgan legal entities and geographies.
• Research, escalate, and resolve exceptions in the general ledger and interfacing systems to maintain ledger integrity.
• Perform monthly general ledger reconciliation and substantiation.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements during month-end close.
• Support business-wise performance reporting and respond to internal queries.
• Maintain accurate reference data for account hierarchies.
• Conduct account, system, and inter-company reconciliations to ensure financial reporting accuracy.
• Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) for system implementations and business initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in financial control or accounting roles.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS standards.
• Advanced MS Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Access skills; experience with macros, pivot tables, and VLOOKUP.
• Ability to manage changing priorities and work effectively under month-end/trading deadlines.
• Strong understanding of data flows across ledgers, risk management, and reporting systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA with 1+ year relevant experience in financial control or accounting.
• Knowledge of banking products such as securities and derivatives.
• Familiarity with transformation/visualization tools like Alteryx, Tableau, UI Path, or other intelligent automation solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail.
