Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repairs
- Respond promptly to guest repair requests and resolve maintenance issues independently.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and lubrication on tools, equipment, and hotel systems.
- Conduct advanced troubleshooting and repairs of HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and pool systems.
- Use Lockout/Tagout systems to safely perform maintenance work.
- Read blueprints and electrical schematics to support repairs and installations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and inventory; requisition parts as needed.
Technical Expertise & Operations
- Display proficiency in multiple engineering areas: air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and building management.
- Operate engineering computer programs for preventive maintenance and energy management systems.
- Train and mentor junior engineers as required.
- Perform Engineer-on-Duty responsibilities, including system readings and rounds.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company safety policies, complete required certifications, and properly store flammable materials.
- Inspect equipment and property for hazards and ensure compliance with local and national codes.
- Maintain professional appearance, protect company assets, and adhere to quality standards.
Guest & Team Support
- Communicate effectively with guests regarding maintenance issues and service expectations.
- Assist individuals with disabilities and respond to service requests promptly.
- Collaborate with team members and support cross-shift communication to ensure seamless operations.
Skills & Competencies
- Advanced mechanical, electrical, and plumbing knowledge for hotel systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance and energy management systems.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and mentorship abilities.
- Ability to safely handle tools, machinery, and heavy equipment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; vocational or technical background required.
- Minimum 2 years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience.
- Universal CFC Certification.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Must meet all applicable state and federal licensing or certification requirements.
