Summary

Kroll is seeking a Consultant in Financial Instruments & Technology in Mumbai to join its Alternative Asset Management and complex securities valuation team. This role offers early-career finance professionals the opportunity to develop deep technical expertise in alternative investment valuation, work with private equity, hedge funds, venture capital, and structured investment clients, and gain exposure to cutting-edge valuation models, DCF, Monte Carlo simulations, and market approaches. Ideal candidates will have strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills, with experience in Python, VBA, and Power BI highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Valuation & Analytical Expertise

  • Develop expertise in alternative asset valuation, financial theory, and valuation methodologies.
  • Construct and review DCF, market multiple, Monte Carlo, option pricing, and structured investment models.
  • Perform valuation analyses across diverse industries and geographies using accepted methodologies.
  • Compile financial ratios, statistical summaries, and organized analyses for client presentations.

Client Engagement

  • Assist in interviewing clients to gather data and information pertinent to valuation engagements.
  • Support preparation of information request lists and participation in face-to-face client meetings.
  • Contribute to report writing and presentation of conclusions, both internally and to clients.
  • Attend industry events to build knowledge and network within the alternative investment community.

Collaboration & Professional Development

  • Work closely with senior team members to maintain and develop client relationships.
  • Support training and mentoring initiatives within the team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and international teams to deliver high-quality valuation services.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, CFA, or MBA.
  • 1–3 years of valuation experience, including constructing and reviewing financial models.
  • Experience with credit analysis or structured securities (CLOs, CMBS, RMBS, ABS, Intex) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of financial statements, valuation theory, and methodologies.
  • Attention to detail, strong work ethic, and ability to manage multiple assignments efficiently.
  • Familiarity with accounting standards and regulatory policies.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; experience with VBA, Python, Power BI is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work effectively in diverse and international teams.
