Key Responsibilities
As a Commis II Chef at ibis Kochi City Centre, you will:
- Specialize in South Indian cuisine, preparing authentic and high-quality dishes.
- Support the Chef de Partie and senior chefs with mise en place and daily operations.
- Accurately requisition items needed for the next day’s service.
- Prioritize and organize kitchen tasks to ensure timely service.
- Follow instructions and collaborate with Sous Chef and Executive Chef.
- Adhere to HACCP standards and municipal food safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness, practice the “clean as you go” policy, and minimize food waste.
- Taste, season, and present food according to ibis quality standards.
- Participate in training, proactively explore world cuisines, and improve culinary skills.
- Ensure smooth shift handovers by preparing mise en place and production lists.
Skills & Qualifications
- Mandatory: Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in South Indian cuisine.
- Culinary diploma/apprenticeship certification preferred.
- Knowledge of multi-cuisine preparation is an advantage.
- Creative, passionate, and committed to delivering excellent guest service.
- Strong time management and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
