Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Facility Management
- Manage all engineering and maintenance operations, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, water treatment, and life safety systems.
- Maintain optimum effectiveness, efficiency, and safety of equipment and systems.
- Plan, schedule, and supervise preventative maintenance programs.
- Manage engineering budgets, capital expenditures, and department controllable expenses.
- Select, order, and procure equipment, supplies, and furnishings.
- Inspect and evaluate physical conditions of facilities, recommending repairs, renovations, or replacements as needed.
Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise day-to-day engineering operations and support the Director of Engineering.
- Lead the emergency response team for all facility-related issues.
- Celebrate successes, recognize team member contributions, and encourage professional development.
- Provide fair, consistent application of property policies and disciplinary procedures.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with all safety, security, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate logs, records, and safety certifications.
- Supervise execution of departmental and property emergency procedures.
Guest Experience & Service
- Handle guest complaints related to engineering issues effectively and efficiently.
- Promote a culture of excellent guest service and well-being.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED plus 4 years of relevant experience and technical training in HVAC-R, electrical, or plumbing.
- OR 2-year degree in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or related field plus 2 years of relevant experience.
- Proven leadership skills in a hospitality engineering environment.
- Strong knowledge of safety, building codes, and maintenance best practices.
