Summary

Chevron ENGINE in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced Lead Network Engineer – Process Network (PCN) to design, implement, and optimize enterprise and industrial network systems. This role focuses on network architecture, IP transport, industrial networks, wireless technologies, and cybersecurity integration to support Chevron’s global operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in network engineering, industrial automation networks, and cloud/on-prem integration, with the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and lead complex networking projects across a dynamic, technology-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

As a Lead Network Engineer at Chevron, you will drive enterprise and industrial network strategies, ensuring resilient, secure, and scalable network infrastructures.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design, implement, and maintain business, industrial, and RF network solutions to meet operational needs.
  • Develop network hardware standards and design specifications for industrial and field networks.
  • Implement and troubleshoot radio frequency IP transport systems.
  • Support network engineering in industrial facilities and challenging environments.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to engineer network infrastructure aligned with business requirements.
  • Create technical design documentation, test plans, and provide tier-3 operational support.
  • Coordinate with global peers to manage change implementations and resolve escalated issues.
  • Implement network administration processes including disaster recovery, BCP, and DRP exercises.
  • Maintain network security infrastructure and implement best practices for industrial and process control networks.
  • Work with project managers, architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver agile network solutions, process automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers and technical guidance across network projects.

Skills & Competencies

  • Expertise in IP transport, routing, switching, and advanced network services (VRF, MPLS, VLANs).
  • Strong knowledge of wired and wireless industrial networks, LTE/5G, VPN, VSAT/LEO, and IoT solutions.
  • Experience with network security technologies, including firewalls, NAC (Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPass), and RF security protocols.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation, particularly using Python.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools, RF technologies, 2-way radio systems, LoRaWAN, and in-building wireless solutions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimize enterprise and process control networks.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and mentoring skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 10–15 years of experience in network engineering, industrial networks, and wireless communications.
  • CCNP or CCIE certification required.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Aruba, RF networks, and industrial network protocols.
  • Advanced English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with network infrastructure in industrial, process, and business environments.
