Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) across development, testing, and production environments.
- Design, develop, and optimize complex Hive queries including analytical functions.
- Create custom UDFs in Hive for business-specific logic and integrations.
- Manage efficient data ingestion pipelines using Sqoop, NiFi, and Oozie workflows.
- Handle multiple data formats (CSV, TSV, Parquet, ORC, JSON, AVRO) and optimize compression techniques (Gzip, Snappy).
- Monitor, tune, and ensure high performance of YARN and Spark applications.
- Apply deep knowledge of distributed systems architecture and parallel computing.
- Use Oracle PL/SQL and Shell scripting for data operations and automation.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and maintain clear documentation.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in Cloudera Data Platform (CDP).
- Hands-on experience with Big Data ecosystem: Spark, Hive, HDFS, Sqoop, MapReduce, Oozie, Yarn, HBase, NiFi.
- Solid understanding of distributed computing and system architecture.
- Proficiency in data transformation, storage optimization, and performance tuning.
- Good working knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL and Unix shell scripting.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field.
- 8–12 years of experience in Big Data, CDP, and distributed systems engineering.
- Proven track record in enterprise-scale data platform administration and optimization.
