Key Responsibilities
As an Automation Engineer Analyst at Cigna, you will:
- Deliver Quality Assurance (QE) testing for new or modified applications across multiple platforms.
- Develop test plans, test designs, and execution strategies for assigned projects.
- Execute test cases, report defects, and participate in defect triage and root cause analysis (RCA).
- Participate in PI & Sprint planning, Agile ceremonies, and sprint retrospectives.
- Contribute to test automation life cycle, including development, execution, and maintenance of automated tests.
- Implement best practices in testing techniques, methodologies, and tools to achieve high test coverage.
- Mentor and guide junior team members to strengthen QA capabilities.
- Track, report, and communicate testing progress to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with global IT teams to ensure quality-first delivery in alignment with Cigna’s strategic outcomes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
- 2–5 years of experience in Software Quality Engineering, specifically ETL Testing.
- Strong experience in data validation, ETL processes, SQL queries, and stored procedures.
- Experience in backend testing across multiple database types.
- Proficient in test automation using Python and familiar with Agile/SAFe methodology.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with software delivery lifecycle, automated testing, and modeling tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a cross-functional team.
Desirable Skills
- ISTQB Foundation or Intermediate certification.
- Experience in DB & API testing.
- Knowledge of ETL tools such as SSIS.
- Familiarity with healthcare insurance domain and international IT delivery.
