Key Responsibilities

• API Development: Design and implement RESTful APIs using Node.js, ensuring seamless integration with internal and external systems.
• Cloud & Event Streaming: Work with AWS and Kafka to handle event streaming and build scalable, cloud-native API solutions.
• API Management: Utilize API Managers (preferably Kong) to manage and secure APIs across the platform.
• Microservices Architecture: Develop and deploy microservices in a cloud environment using Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration.
• DevOps Practices: Optimize CI/CD pipelines with tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, and Codefresh for automated testing, building, and deployment.
• Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC): Implement Terraform for infrastructure provisioning, managing cloud resources efficiently.
• Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot integration issues, analyze logs, and optimize system performance in the cloud.
• Agile Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects in an Agile environment, from design through to deployment and support.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Node.js Development: Strong experience building RESTful APIs using Node.js frameworks like Fastify.
• Cloud Experience: Expertise in AWS development environment, including deploying microservices and cloud solutions.
• API Management: Experience working with API Managers such as Kong, ensuring secure and efficient API operations.
• Event Streaming: Hands-on experience with Kafka for event streaming and integrating with microservices.
• CI/CD & DevOps: Proficiency in tools like GitHub, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes for continuous integration and deployment.
• Infrastructure-as-Code: Familiarity with Terraform for managing infrastructure and provisioning cloud resources.
• Testing & Debugging: Experience in TDD, debugging, and performance optimization for APIs and microservices.
• Collaboration: Strong ability to work with cross-functional teams, document integration flows, and communicate technical concepts effectively.

Preferred Skills

• Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile development processes and software development life cycle.
