⚡ Responsibilities

As the Solar DC Design Lead, your core responsibilities include:

🔧 Engineering & Design

• Review and lead design for:
  • DC single line diagrams (SLD)
  • Solar module selection and inverter sizing
  • Cable sizing, earthing layouts, and voltage drop calculations
• Ensure engineering deliverables align with project schedules and budgets.
• Guide and check design calculations and drawings by team members.
• Conduct generation and shading analysis using PVSyst software.
• Lead PV resource analysis and loss estimation studies.

🏗 Project Coordination

• Collaborate with other departments: Civil, Structural, Instrumentation, and MEP.
• Ensure thorough interdisciplinary design checks.
• Support pre-bid engineering, site commissioning, and warranty phase issues.

👥 Team & Stakeholder Leadership

• Lead and mentor a team of design engineers and draftsmen.
• Interact with clients, consultants, and vendors to resolve technical clarifications.
• Ensure compliance with IEC standards for inverters, modules, and solar plant components.

🧠 Required Skills

🌱 Technical Expertise

• Deep knowledge of DC electrical systems in utility-scale solar power plants.
• Proficiency in PVSyst simulation, generation estimation, and solar layout planning.
• Familiarity with PV module technologies, string sizing, and PV loss modeling.
• Working knowledge of earthing systems, lightning protection, and BIM modeling.
• Experience with both central and string inverter technologies.
• Understanding of AC evacuation systems is a plus.

🛠 Tools & Standards

• Hands-on experience with:
  • PVSyst, AutoCAD, ETAP, and Excel
  • IEC, IS, and other international solar standards
