Key Responsibilities
As a Network Engineer, your core duties will include:
- Designing and planning robust IP networks for enterprise communication systems.
- Configuring and managing routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking hardware.
- Implementing L2 and L3 network technologies, including BGP, OSPF, NAT, QoS, and Load Balancing.
- Performing network architecture design, IP planning, and virtual routing configurations.
- Handling network integration across multiple vendor components and OEM systems.
- Supporting product development by capturing system/product requirements and creating High-Level & Low-Level Design documents.
- Coordinating system integration, installation, commissioning, and testing of networking subsystems.
- Conducting production testing, network troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Collaborating with certification agencies, customers, and vendors to ensure compliance and timely approvals.
- Providing technical support for ongoing network security, system updates, and upgrades.
Required Skills
To excel in this network engineering role, candidates should have:
- Solid knowledge of network design and architecture
- Proficiency with network device configuration and integration
- In-depth experience with BGP, OSPF, NAT, QoS, and IP routing protocols
- Hands-on expertise with firewalls, switches, and routers
- Experience in system integration and project coordination
- Understanding of network security, load balancing, and performance tuning
- Strong interpersonal skills to work across teams, vendors, and clients
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech), preferably in Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field
- Certifications such as CCNA / CCNP are highly desirable
