Key Responsibilities
As a QA/QC Engineer – Civil Construction, your responsibilities include:
- Conduct inspection and testing of all incoming construction materials: Cement, Steel, Aggregates, Concrete, etc.
- Develop and maintain method statements, inspection test plans (ITPs), and quality checklists based on BOQ and project specs.
- Implement and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across construction sites.
- Perform stage-wise inspections for RCC, finishing works, and ensure compliance with QA/QC standards.
- Oversee RMC operations, concrete mix design validation, and internal/external lab testing.
- Close customer complaints and non-conformities (NCs) from internal and external quality audits.
- Prepare quality control reports, maintain records, and ensure accuracy in testing equipment calibration.
- Conduct internal and system audits across multiple sites and flag inconsistencies or deviations from SOPs.
- Drive root cause analysis for NCs and track corrective/preventive actions across project teams.
- Plan and coordinate training sessions based on execution timelines and quality risk areas.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Contracts, Procurement, and Engineering for technical reviews, vendor evaluations, and material compliance.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in construction material testing, civil engineering QA/QC practices, and quality documentation
- Proficient in RCC, RMC operations, lab testing procedures, and concrete technology
- Excellent knowledge of IS codes, quality standards, ITPs, and method statement preparation
- Familiarity with conducting and closing internal quality audits and third-party inspections
- Strong documentation and reporting skills (MIS, quality records, site audits)
- Ability to train teams and implement quality improvement initiatives
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E./B.Tech)
- Additional certifications in ISO/QMS/Construction Quality Standards preferred
- Minimum 14–17 years of QA/QC experience in large-scale construction projects
