Responsibilities
- Lead and ensure effective implementation of the EHS management system in line with IMS and EHS manuals.
- Identify training needs and design safety training programs for staff, visitors, subcontractors, and workmen.
- Monitor and evaluate compliance with legal and regulatory safety requirements under guidance from the cluster EHS manager.
- Conduct regular site EHS inspections and report findings, recommending corrective actions promptly.
- Review and appraise site EHS performance, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor proactive safety performance via key performance indicators (KPIs) on EHS.
- Organize safety campaigns, competitions, and special programs to promote workplace health and safety culture.
- Oversee and be accountable for the performance of site EHS stewards.
- Coordinate risk assessments with engineers and update the project risk management register.
- Lead investigation of all incidents and accidents, analyzing trends and initiating preventive measures.
- Drive the establishment and maintenance of emergency preparedness and response procedures.
- Prepare and submit detailed weekly and monthly EHS performance reports to headquarters.
- Verify and ensure the quality and compliance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety gadgets.
- Appraise management on project EHS plan implementation and provide strategic safety leadership.
Skills & Expertise
- Extensive experience in Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental (OHS&E) management in industrial or power transmission sectors.
- Strong knowledge of safety management systems, regulatory compliance, and industrial safety standards.
- Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and develop corrective action plans.
- Expertise in designing and delivering safety training programs.
- Leadership skills with experience managing multi-disciplinary safety teams.
- Proficient in monitoring EHS KPIs and driving continuous safety performance improvement.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills, with ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
Qualifications
- Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Safety and Environmental Management (PGDISEM) or equivalent.
- Minimum 12 to 15 years of professional experience in EHS management roles, preferably in power transmission or related heavy industries.
