About the Role

As a Senior AWS Support Engineer, you’ll be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and enhancing cloud-based infrastructure hosted on Amazon Web Services. This role includes handling environment provisioning, incident resolution, performance tuning, and implementing infrastructure as code (IaC) best practices. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, security, and DevOps teams to maintain system reliability, scalability, and security.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide L2/L3 support for AWS-based production and non-production environments.
  • Manage EC2 instances, VPC configurations, IAM roles/policies, S3 storage, and CloudWatch monitoring.
  • Automate environment provisioning using Terraform, CloudFormation, and scripting tools.
  • Handle root cause analysis, incident management, and performance optimization.
  • Work with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and client-specific security policies.
  • Maintain environment uptime, availability, and recovery planning (DR).
  • Collaborate with developers and architects to optimize application deployment in cloud environments.

Required Skills

  • 6–10 years of experience in AWS environment management and technical support.
  • Expertise in core AWS services: EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, IAM.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform, Shell/Python scripting, and DevOps pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of network configurations, VPC, load balancers, and security groups.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix systems administration.
  • Ability to troubleshoot production issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Knowledge of ITIL practices for incident, change, and problem management.
  • Excellent communication skills for stakeholder coordination and documentation.

Nice to Have

  • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator / Solutions Architect Associate or Professional.
  • Experience with containerized environments (e.g., Docker, ECS, EKS).
  • Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, ELK stack).
  • Knowledge of automation in hybrid cloud environments.
