About the Role
As a Senior AWS Data Engineer at Deloitte, you’ll play a pivotal role in helping clients unlock the full potential of their data using AWS services and modern cloud architectures. You’ll design robust ETL/ELT pipelines, manage data lakes, and ensure performance, security, and scalability across projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement high-performance, scalable data pipelines using AWS services.
- Develop and optimize ETL workflows with AWS Glue, EMR, Lambda, and Step Functions.
- Create and manage data lakes on S3 and Delta Lake for advanced analytics.
- Build solutions using Amazon Redshift, Athena, Aurora, RDS, and DynamoDB.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to support business intelligence initiatives.
- Ensure data quality, security, and regulatory compliance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in data infrastructure and architecture.
- Optimize cloud resource utilization for cost-effective performance.
- Use Python, PySpark, and SQL for data manipulation and processing.
Required Skills and Experience
- 2 to 7 years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer with a strong AWS focus.
- Proficiency with AWS Glue, EMR, Lambda, S3, Redshift, Athena, Step Functions.
- Experience in Delta Lake and big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
- Advanced skills in Python, PySpark, SQL, and PostgreSQL.
- Strong background in database design and data modeling (Aurora, RDS, DynamoDB).
- Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and data governance.
- Familiarity with Agile development and version control systems (e.g., Git).

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Experience in data analytics consulting, cloud migration, or enterprise data platforms.
