Summary

Deloitte India is seeking a highly experienced Associate Director – Forensic & Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) Advisory to join its dynamic Risk Advisory practice in Mumbai. This role offers a unique opportunity for professionals with deep expertise in AML compliance, KYC remediation, sanctions screening, and transaction monitoring to lead regulatory transformation projects for leading financial institutions.

As a key member of the Forensic and Disputes team, you will design, deliver, and manage anti-financial crime strategies that help clients meet compliance expectations and mitigate financial crime risks. Key Responsibilities

As Associate Director – FCC Advisory, your role will include:

  • Leading FCC advisory engagements including AML reviews, KYC remediation, transaction monitoring, and sanctions compliance.
  • Managing teams on large, complex anti-money laundering (AML) and financial crime risk management projects.
  • Designing AML risk frameworks, control procedures, and gap assessments aligned with local and international standards (FATF, Wolfsberg, US Patriot Act).
  • Leading client meetings, scoping discussions, and report presentations.
  • Supervising project delivery and ensuring quality control of all client-facing deliverables.
  • Supporting business development, including proposals, bids, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Writing whitepapers and thought leadership content on FCC trends and regulatory issues.
  • Advising clients on the implementation and optimization of transaction monitoring systems, screening tools, and regulatory technologies.

Required Skills & Expertise

  • Deep knowledge of AML, Sanctions, KYC, Transaction Monitoring, PEP Screening, and OFAC Testing.
  • Strong understanding of global and Indian regulatory frameworks including PMLA, BSA, and FATF standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead compliance engagements for financial institutions or within consulting firms.
  • Experience implementing or reviewing AML technology platforms and automated monitoring systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and client management skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder influencing capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail and delivery timelines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in AML/FCC advisory, compliance, or risk consulting.
  • Background in financial services, banking, or regulatory bodies.
  • Experience with AML system implementations, compliance technology, and risk process optimization.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Law, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, or related disciplines.
  • Certifications like CAMS, CFE, or equivalent are a strong plus.
