Responsibilities
As a Frontend Software Engineer at Tesla, you will:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications to support Tesla’s internal energy product lifecycle management.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-tested frontend code using Angular, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
- Develop unit and integration tests; collaborate with QA teams for regression testing of new features.
- Monitor live system metrics, respond promptly to production issues, and perform root cause analysis.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, UX/UI Designers, and Business stakeholders to prioritize and deliver impactful features.
- Own features end-to-end from design through production deployment, ensuring maintainability and scalability.
- Identify opportunities to enhance system performance, usability, and functionality.
- Document application features, architecture decisions, and technical guidelines clearly for future reference.
Skills & Qualifications
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong understanding of core web technologies: HTTP, REST, AJAX, JSON, and modern frontend frameworks, especially Angular.
- Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, CSS, including DOM manipulation and the JS object model.
- Experience working with SQL databases and writing queries for backend interaction.
- Solid grasp of RESTful API design principles and consumption best practices.
- Familiarity with frontend tooling such as Vite, NPM, and Yarn for efficient development and build processes.
- Experience with GraphQL is a significant plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a team-oriented mindset.
