🎯 Key Responsibilities

As an Application Product Engineer at Tesla, your core responsibilities will include:

  • Define product vision and roadmap for global Workforce Management systems, including payroll, scheduling, compliance, leave, and time tracking.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Legal, HR, Finance) to align product development with business objectives.
  • Translate market-specific requirements into scalable, future-proof architecture and system design.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to enhance workflows, automate manual processes, and streamline global HR operations.
  • Gather business requirements and convert them into user stories, specs, and system designs.
  • Continuously monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess user satisfaction and business impact.
  • Prioritize features and enhancements based on customer impact, system scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure systems adhere to legal and compliance standards in each operating region.
  • Provide guidance on Leave Administration, Time & Attendance workflows, and Payroll system design and maintenance.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or an MBA with technical exposure.
  • 5+ years of product engineering, product management, or functional HRIS domain experience.
  • Proven experience with platforms like ADP, Kronos, Workday, SAP, PeopleSoft, UKG, etc.
  • Deep understanding of HR processes, especially Timekeeping, Leave Management, and Payroll Compliance.
  • Hands-on experience gathering requirements and collaborating with developers to implement scalable solutions.
  • Strong background in Agile methodologies, product lifecycle management, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Data-driven decision-making and ability to derive insights from metrics and reporting tools.
  • Experience in presenting to executive leadership and managing enterprise-level projects.
