Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain standards for configuring and securing Teradata databases.
- Administer SUSE Linux operating systems that support Teradata infrastructure.
- Provide engineering support for Teradata Backup and Restore (BAR) operations for databases up to 2.5 PB.
- Ensure database security, integrity, and compliance in partnership with IT Risk teams.
- Analyze and monitor database performance, identifying optimization opportunities.
- Plan and execute Teradata platform changes, including patches, upgrades, and software installations.
- Deploy, manage, and optimize storage devices, network switches, and database software.
- Perform Teradata performance tuning using tools like TASM.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 3+ years of applied experience in infrastructure engineering or software engineering concepts.
- Proven Teradata Administration (on-premises) experience.
- Hands-on experience as Infrastructure DBA and Linux Administrator.
- Expertise in Teradata Backup and Restore (BAR) with knowledge of NetBackup and Dell-EMC Data Domain.
- Strong Teradata performance tuning capabilities.
- Familiarity with Teradata utilities and product suite.
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated, quick learner, and team player.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Teradata Cloud administration and AWS Cloud technologies.
- Strong hands-on expertise in system/operations DBA activities.
- Knowledge of process reengineering for infrastructure systems.
