Key Responsibilities
As a Cyber Security Consultant (SIEM Specialist), you will:
- Perform 24×7 monitoring of SIEM alerts and other security solutions (on-premises and SaaS)
- Triage potential security incidents and assign severity based on defined criteria
- Conduct preliminary analysis to validate alerts and identify true security incidents
- Investigate indicators of compromise (IOCs) and determine the scope and impact of threats
- Escalate confirmed incidents to SOC L2 analysts with comprehensive details
- Accurately document findings, actions, and evidence during triage processes
- Follow established incident response playbooks and SOPs
- Execute predefined use cases and scripts for enhanced alert validation
- Monitor the health and performance of security monitoring tools
- Participate in continuous training and skill development programs
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in SOC operations or security incident monitoring
- Strong understanding of networking and cybersecurity concepts
- Familiarity with common cyber threats, attack vectors, and security monitoring tools
- Proficiency in SIEM platforms (Splunk preferred)
- Analytical mindset for assessing and validating security alerts
- Good communication, documentation, and reporting skills
- Certifications in Security+, CEH, or ECSA preferred
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.E / B.Tech) in Computer Science, IT, or related fields
- Graduates from Tier 1/2 institutes preferred
