Overview

Join EY India’s Business Consulting Risk – Actuarial Services team and help leading insurers solve complex business challenges through data, analytics, and actuarial expertise. As a Senior Consultant, you’ll work on actuarial projects spanning reserving, pricing, solvency, IFRS 17 implementation, reinsurance optimization, and business planning for both domestic and international insurance markets.

This role is ideal for professionals with actuarial experience in the General Insurance domain who want to combine deep technical skills with consulting exposure and client leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver actuarial projects related to reserving, pricing, solvency, and IFRS 17 implementation.
  • Develop and maintain Excel-based models that accurately reflect insurance product features and regulatory requirements.
  • Support research initiatives on evolving standards such as Solvency II and IFRS 17 to generate thought leadership insights.
  • Contribute to client presentations, proposals, and deliverables for business development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary EY teams across consulting, risk, and analytics.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders within EY and client organizations.
  • Participate in knowledge sharing, training, and internal capability development.
  • Prepare clear, concise, and insightful reports and presentations for clients.

Skills and Attributes for Success

  • Strong understanding of actuarial principles, reserving methods, and capital modeling.
  • Working knowledge of IFRS 17, Solvency frameworks, and insurance regulations.
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as R, Python, SAS, SQL, or Excel VBA.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and modeling skills.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver quality outcomes under tight deadlines.
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive and adaptable attitude.

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in General Insurance (Actuarial domain).
  • Cleared at least 4 actuarial exams from recognized actuarial bodies (IAI, IFoA, etc.).
  • Familiarity with IFRS 17 implementation projects or regulatory reporting preferred.
