Deloitte’s Technology & Transformation (T&T) team helps leading global organizations unlock value from technology and data. The team delivers end-to-end solutions across data engineering, analytics, AI, automation, and software development, using innovative tools and frameworks to enable insight-driven decision-making.

You’ll work alongside data scientists, cloud engineers, solution architects, and software developers to build scalable, secure, and intelligent enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Consultant – Java, you will:

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based enterprise applications using best practices.
• Build microservices and RESTful APIs with Spring Boot and related frameworks.
• Optimize backend performance for high scalability and low latency.
• Collaborate with business analysts to translate requirements into technical specifications.
• Develop reusable components and maintain clean, testable, and efficient code.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, ensure version control (Git), and manage automated deployments.
• Integrate applications with databases (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and external APIs.
• Perform unit and integration testing for continuous reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving overall development standards.
• Ensure security and performance optimization across all deployed solutions.

Technical Skills & Experience

• Strong command over Java (v8 and above) and object-oriented programming principles.
• Experience in Spring Boot, Hibernate, Struts, or similar Java frameworks.
• Deep understanding of REST APIs, SOAP, and web services.
• Knowledge of front-end technologies like HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (basic understanding).
• Hands-on experience with database systems (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with Red Hat, OpenShift (OCP), and cloud computing environments.
• Experience with DevOps tools – Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency with Git or similar version control systems.
• Understanding of software security best practices and application architecture patterns.

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5–8 years of professional experience in Java Development or Backend Engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on solution-driven development.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and stakeholder management capabilities.
