Key Responsibilities
As a Junior Engineer – Manufacturing Engineering at Flex, you will:
- Design fixtures for PCBA manufacturing and PCB panel array layouts.
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for product manufacturing.
- Support Cycle Time Estimation and NRE calculations for Request for Quote (RFQ) preparation.
- Perform Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA) for new products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define performance metrics for new products and processes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and enhance manufacturing efficiency.
- Contribute to the improvement of existing designs and manufacturing processes.
Skills & Competencies
- Hands-on experience with 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor.
- Knowledge of IPC standards and ability to interpret customer specifications, assembly drawings, and manufacturing instructions.
- Strong understanding of NPI operations, manufacturing engineering, and EMS industry practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and MS Outlook.
- Familiarity with Continuous Process Improvement, Lean manufacturing, and Kanban principles.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering (ECE/EEE/Mechanical).
- 0–2 years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in EMS.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot process issues.
- Open to working in shift-based schedules.
