Key Responsibilities
As a Principal ELV Engineer at Mott MacDonald, you will:
- Lead ICT, Security, and ELV system design and ensure alignment with international standards (TIA/EIA, BS, BICSI, TRA, SIRA, ADMCC, TDRA).
- Manage design teams and project delivery, from conceptualization to final handover.
- Support bids, project planning, and stakeholder collaboration for multiple global assignments.
- Drive business excellence through innovation, design optimization, and quality assurance.
- Engage with clients, architects, and cross-discipline engineers to ensure clarity and project success.
- Conduct peer reviews, design validation, and performance assessments of ELV systems.
- Develop technical documentation—including schedules, schematics, and design reports.
- Encourage innovation and adoption of emerging technologies in smart building design.
Technical Expertise & Required Skills
- Education: BE/BTech/MTech in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Electronics Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 15 years in ICT, Security, and ELV design projects.
- Software Skills:
- Autodesk CAD, Revit, BIM/ACC (mandatory)
- Navisworks for coordination and collaboration
- Bentley MicroStation/Aecosim (advantageous)
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Cisco/HP networking (CCNA/CCNP)
- BICSI RCDD/DCDC/CTS or similar
- System Expertise:
- Local Area Network (LAN) & Network Infrastructure
- Access Control & Security Systems
- CCTV, IDS, and Alarm Systems
- Public Address & General Alarm (PAGA) Systems
- Building Management Systems (BMS) and Smart Services
- PABX, Intercom, Paging, IP Telephony
- Radio (AM/FM, TETRA) & GSM Infrastructure
Leadership & Management Skills
- Proven project management and budget control capabilities.
- Strong client relationship and communication skills.
- Ability to mentor teams, manage multiple stakeholders, and deliver under tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated success in fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
