Key Responsibilities
As a GCP Cloud Consultant / Cloud Engineer, your responsibilities include:
- Cloud Solution Design & Deployment: Build, configure, and deploy GCP cloud solutions using industry best practices.
- Storage & Backup Management: Manage cloud storage (SAN, NAS, DAS) and implement backup/recovery strategies with tools like Veeam or Commvault.
- Automation & Scripting: Develop automation scripts in Python or Bash to manage cloud processes and optimize workflows.
- Process Understanding & Optimization: Analyze existing processes, facilitate change requests, and improve operational efficiency.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud solutions, test procedures, and UAT/production workflows.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with business owners, process teams, and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Resolve day-to-day cloud operations issues, applying analytical and technical expertise.
Required Skills & Expertise
- Strong knowledge of Google Cloud Platform services, including Cloud Storage, Persistent Disk, Filestore, Cloud SQL, and IAM.
- Experience with storage technologies (SAN, NAS, DAS) and backup/recovery solutions.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or similar languages.
- Understanding of networking concepts and cloud security best practices.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for team collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
- Knowledge of data lifecycle management, data archiving, and tiering strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 2–6 years of experience in cloud engineering, GCP consulting, or cloud infrastructure management.
- Hands-on experience with cloud automation, storage management, and backup/recovery solutions.
