Key Responsibilities
ETL & BI Testing
- Test data pipelines, ETL processes, and BI reports across on-premise and cloud platforms.
- Develop and execute manual and automated test cases for backend and frontend applications.
- Ensure test readiness, including environment setup, test data, and tool availability.
- Conduct integration testing, regression testing, and UAT.
- Validate data accuracy, integrity, and transformation logic for analytics applications.
Big Data & Advanced Analytics Testing
- Perform unstructured/big data testing using Hadoop/Spark frameworks.
- Test predictive analytics, ML models, and AI-based applications.
- Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to identify and resolve defects.
Test Strategy & Reporting
- Contribute to test strategy and planning for BI & DWH projects.
- Document test results, generate reports, and provide feedback to test leads.
- Track defects, participate in defect triaging, and ensure timely resolution.
- Support client meetings and status reporting on testing activities.
Team Collaboration & Mentorship
- Coordinate with development and QA teams across geographies.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to training programs.
- Participate in process improvement and analytics testing knowledge sharing.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong understanding of BI, DWH, ETL, OLAP, and reporting concepts.
- Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, SSIS, SSRS, and Spotfire.
- Proficiency in Python scripting for data processing.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and big data frameworks (Hadoop/Spark).
- Knowledge of data quality, data transformation, and database design.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work as individual contributor or team lead.
Qualifications
- Education: BE/B.Tech, MCA, M.Sc in relevant fields.
- Experience: 2–9 years in ETL, BI, and DWH testing, including analytics projects.
- Desirable: Exposure to test automation, Perl/Shell scripting, HP ALM, and SDLC processes.
