Core Responsibilities
As a Principal Engineer in Data Science, you will:
- Design, develop, and implement advanced machine learning models, predictive analytics, and NLP solutions for commercial insurance and risk management.
- Analyze structured and unstructured data to derive actionable insights for clients and internal teams.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to consult on complex financial and statistical analyses.
- Build market-leading analytics tools to enhance Marsh’s data-driven services.
- Stay updated with the latest research and innovations in data science, AI, and analytics, and bring new approaches to the team.
- Serve as an internal expert and champion for data science across Marsh and Marsh McLennan.
- Develop, deploy, and maintain APIs and statistical models for real-time business applications.
- Conduct research on client risk areas and provide data-backed insights for consulting deliverables.
Required Skills
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience with libraries such as pandas, NumPy, matplotlib, Streamlit.
- Solid knowledge of SQL and database management.
- Hands-on experience with machine learning algorithms, including Time Series Forecasting, Clustering, Regression, Boosting, and Decision Trees.
- Ability to analyze large datasets, implement optimization strategies, and generate data-driven business solutions.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and client-facing skills.
- Strong understanding of risk modeling, inferential statistics, and data visualization tools (PowerBI/Excel).
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or related fields.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in data science, AI research, or related areas.
- Knowledge of insurance contracts, commercial insurance, or risk management is a plus.
- Proven ability to deliver client-oriented solutions and data-driven business insights.
