Key Responsibilities
Data Infrastructure & Pipeline Development
- Design, build, and maintain scalable organizational data infrastructure and architecture.
- Develop, optimize, and manage ELT/ETL pipelines for diverse data sources.
- Select appropriate tools and technologies for data ingestion, transformation, and distribution.
- Ensure high-quality, fault-tolerant, and resilient data solutions across global teams.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Identify and implement process improvements, including automation of data workflows.
- Optimize data pipelines and performance of complex SQL/Spark queries.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate automation and AI/ML solutions into workflows.
Governance, Compliance & Collaboration
- Enforce data governance best practices, including cataloging, profiling, and mapping.
- Conduct code quality audits and peer reviews to maintain consistency and readability.
- Partner with stakeholders in the Alternative Asset Advisory service line to support strategic initiatives.
Technical Innovation
- Build REST APIs, Python SDKs, and Spark-based data services.
- Develop solutions using modern frameworks such as FastAPI, Pydantic, Polars, Pandas, Delta Lake.
- Leverage Lakehouse and Medallion architecture principles for structured and unstructured data.
- Work with pipeline orchestration tools like Airflow and Azure Data Factory.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience designing and managing ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Advanced expertise in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and Databricks.
- Strong knowledge of Python, PySpark, Spark SQL, relational databases.
- Hands-on experience with data services, APIs, SDKs, and containerization tools (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Understanding of data governance, API product management, and versioning standards.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with global teams.
Desired Skills
- Deep understanding of cloud architecture (compute, storage, networking, security, cost optimization).
- Experience tuning complex SQL/Spark queries and pipelines for performance.
- Hands-on experience with Lakehouse solutions using Azure Databricks, ADLS, PySpark.
- Familiarity with OOP, asynchronous programming, batch processing, and CI/CD workflows.
- Knowledge of DevOps best practices, Git, and modern data engineering frameworks.
