Summary

KPMG Global Services (KGS) is looking for an Associate Director – Data Science with expertise in Generative AI, Machine Learning (ML), and Natural Language Processing (NLP) to join our cutting-edge KDN AI Foundry team in Bangalore. This role is ideal for candidates with 10+ years of experience in AI/ML, data science, and advanced analytics, who can develop, deploy, and optimize AI models for business transformation. You will leverage state-of-the-art AI technologies to solve complex business challenges, collaborate across global teams, and drive innovation for KPMG’s clients worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

AI & Machine Learning Model Development

• Design, develop, and implement machine learning models and Generative AI solutions for complex business problems.
• Build and fine-tune deep learning models to enhance performance and accuracy across various use cases.
• Experiment with state-of-the-art AI technologies, including GPT, GANs, and transformer models, to create innovative solutions.

Natural Language Processing (NLP)

• Develop NLP models for sentiment analysis, entity recognition, text summarization, and language translation.
• Implement text processing pipelines, including tokenization, lemmatization, and vectorization.
• Work with NLP frameworks such as SpaCy, BERT, and GPT to deliver actionable insights.

Data Analysis & Feature Engineering

• Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to understand patterns and relationships in large datasets.
• Engineer and select features to optimize AI/ML model performance.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and completeness for model training and evaluation.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with AI engineers, data engineers, and product managers to translate business requirements into AI solutions.
• Work with KPMG member firm stakeholders to align AI models with business objectives.
• Participate in code reviews, share best practices, and mentor junior data scientists.

Model Deployment & Optimization

• Deploy AI/ML models in production environments, ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Monitor model performance, retrain as needed, and optimize for cloud platforms (e.g., Azure).

Research, Innovation & Governance

• Stay updated with latest AI, ML, and NLP advancements and integrate new techniques into KGS projects.
• Conduct research to identify new AI use cases and innovation opportunities.
• Ensure all models and data processes comply with KPMG data governance, privacy, and ethical AI standards.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in Python, R, or Scala, with focus on AI/ML libraries.
• Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms, NLP techniques, and statistical methods.
• Hands-on experience with AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, BERT, GPT.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark).
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills to explain complex AI concepts to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields.
• Experience: 10+ years in AI, ML, NLP, or data science roles with proven track record in model development and deployment.
• Certifications: AI/ML, Data Science, or NLP certifications preferred.
