Responsibilities
Data Modernization & Project Execution
- Drive subsurface data modernization projects for reservoir management across upstream operations.
- Collaborate with data engineers, IT architects, senior technical professionals, and business units to modernize workflows.
- Establish business cases, work plans, budgets, and schedules, ensuring quality and timely project delivery.
- Serve as the voice of the customer, guiding best practices, data governance, and data architecture standards.
- Support external engagements for industry-wide OSDU participation.
- Provide periodic updates to senior management and cross-functional teams.
Analytics & Innovation
- Integrate and transform large-scale reservoir datasets for enterprise use.
- Identify and implement workflow optimizations and scalable data solutions.
- Innovate current data flows, design new subsurface data integration solutions, and operationalize new processes.
- Facilitate training and knowledge sharing within the reservoir management community.
Collaboration & Governance
- Work remotely with global teams while maintaining strong local collaboration at the Bengaluru Technology Center.
- Ensure compliance with data governance policies, quality standards, and best practices.
- Support development of documentation, stewardship, and execution strategies for enterprise data initiatives.
Skills and Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical, or relevant Engineering discipline.
- Minimum 2 years experience in reservoir engineering workflows and data management.
- Hands-on experience with data transformation, optimization, and enterprise-scale data modernization.
- Familiarity with data warehousing, ETL, cloud platforms, data pipelines, and BI tools.
- Experience in agile/scrum environments, working with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong collaboration, leadership, and communication skills.
- Permanent right to work in India.
Preferred:
- Experience with OSDU data projects.
- Knowledge of data taxonomy, data cataloguing, and workflow automation.
- Strong understanding of reservoir engineering data types, workflows, and applications.
- Experience with enterprise-scale data efforts, cloud platforms, and analytics tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, proactively solve problems, and work under pressure.
