Responsibilities
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and reliability improvements for instrumentation systems across upstream, midstream, and downstream operations.
- Develop and execute instrument surveillance and monitoring programs.
- Collect and analyze CMMS data to identify equipment reliability issues and cost optimization opportunities.
- Coordinate with EPC contractors for design, compliance reviews, and project execution.
- Support HAZOP, SIL, and safety classification studies and ensure closure of action items.
- Develop maintenance strategies, control system life cycle programs, and obsolescence plans.
- Review and update instrumentation technical documentation (P&IDs, control narratives, logic diagrams).
- Execute functional safety assessments, cybersecurity compliance, and risk-based maintenance planning.
- Guide and mentor junior engineers on design standards, specifications, and engineering best practices.
Skills and Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation & Controls, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering.
- 5+ years’ experience in instrumentation engineering within oil & gas, refining, or petrochemical industries.
- Hands-on experience with control valves, shutdown valves, pressure/temperature/flow/level instruments.
- Knowledge of industry codes, local regulations, and cybersecurity requirements.
- Experience in maintenance, selection, sizing, and application of I&C systems.
Preferred:
- Expertise in Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), PLCs, and functional safety certification.
- Experience with vibration monitoring systems, custody transfer metering, tank gauging, and machinery control systems.
- Strong proficiency in SAP, Tableau, and advanced data analysis tools.
- Certifications in Functional Safety or Cybersecurity from recognized institutions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
