Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Well Engineer at QatarEnergy LNG, your role will include:
- Annual Wellwork Planning & Coordination
- Develop and execute the Annual Rigless Wellwork Plan.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, service companies, and operations teams to ensure alignment.
- Monitor progress and adjust plans to maximize well utilization and minimize downtime.
- Rigless Wellwork Execution
- Prepare for all rigless well interventions, ensuring resources and services are in place.
- Lead pre-job and post-job review meetings to drive continuous improvement.
- Oversee resource allocation, contractor engagement, and execution of safe operations.
- Contract & Cost Management
- Manage wellwork contracts and vendor performance.
- Review contractor invoices and monitor service contract expenditures for cost efficiency.
- Technical Well Engineering Support
- Develop and maintain the Standard WellWork Intervention Manual (SWIM).
- Identify and apply new technologies for improved well performance and intervention efficiency.
- Conduct specialized engineering studies and support project planning/start-up phases.
- Budget & Compliance
- Prepare and track annual wellwork budgets.
- Ensure compliance with QatarEnergy LNG’s safety, environmental, and international wellwork standards.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in wellwork operations, with at least 5 years in rigless well interventions (offshore/onshore).
- Expertise in HPHT (High Pressure, High Temperature) wells and toxic gas environments.
- Strong knowledge in:
- Wellhead, Tree & Surface Equipment
- Subsurface Equipment & Production Logging
- Well/Tubular Design and Rigless Equipment (including Pressure Control Systems)
- Well Integrity Management (SCP, Wellhead/Tree Testing, Safety Valve Maintenance)
- Proficiency in well engineering software (Well View, Emraude, Saphir).
- Proven ability to manage contractors, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Natural Gas Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- IWCF Level-4 Certification is mandatory.
