Key Responsibilities
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with QatarEnergy LNG financial standards.
- Provide expert advice on complex project accounting issues, including financial modeling, budgeting, and cost analysis.
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders on shareholder agreements, billing, cash calls, and project financial models.
- Review and prepare gross cost/operating reports and reconcile discrepancies in project costs and invoices.
- Update and monitor project summary reports including green book, well-wise reports, WBS, and cost trackers.
- Manage project accruals, adjustments, and reconciliations, addressing queries from venture control.
- Prepare and monitor cash forecasts, funding, billing statements, and variance analysis to optimize cash balances.
- Support the Work Plan & Budget (WP&B) process, including headcount verification, expenditure phasing, and variance analysis.
Qualifications & Skills
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Commerce; OR
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline plus an internationally recognized accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CA, CIMA, CMA, CFA).
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of finance and accounting experience, preferably in the oil & gas or energy sector.
- Strong knowledge of SAP FI/CO; experience with BPC, BW, and Project Systems is an advantage.
- Proven ability to ensure compliance with financial control procedures.
Technical Skills
- Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial reporting skills.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication.
