Responsibilities
As a Backend Developer at Bain BCN Labs, you will:
- Develop scalable backend services using Python frameworks like FastAPI and Django Rest Framework.
- Design, implement, and integrate RESTful APIs with secure authentication and clean documentation.
- Manage relational and NoSQL databases, ensuring efficient queries, data integrity, and optimized performance.
- Collaborate with front-end developers and data scientists to deliver seamless business logic and data pipelines.
- Deploy backend services on cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and implement CI/CD workflows.
- Maintain code quality through reviews, reusable architecture, and automated testing.
- Contribute to Agile development cycles, sprint planning, and collaborative team discussions.
- Proactively drive innovation, problem-solving, and continuous improvement in backend engineering.
Required Skills & Expertise
- Strong Python programming skills with proven backend development experience.
- Hands-on knowledge of FastAPI (async APIs) and Django Rest Framework (secure, scalable APIs).
- Proficiency in RESTful API design with authentication, versioning, and documentation (Swagger/OpenAPI).
- Experience with databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, and exposure to MongoDB/Redis.
- Familiarity with Pydantic, DRF serializers, and data validation techniques.
- Cloud deployment experience on AWS (EC2, Lambda, S3) or Azure.
- Strong knowledge of Git, Docker, Agile methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Bonus: Basic knowledge of React.js or Vue.js for smoother collaboration with front-end teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
- 1–2 years of professional experience in backend development or full-stack development.
- Exposure to data-driven applications, APIs, and cloud deployments.
