Key Responsibilities

As a License/OSS Management Professional at Siemens, you will:

  • Conduct open-source code, patent, and legal research to evaluate risks and ensure compliance.
  • Analyze source code and license texts using OSS compliance tools such as Black Duck and Fossology.
  • Create detailed compliance reports, obligations, and recommendations for project teams.
  • Support teams in addressing software license conditions and ensuring timely communication.
  • Review project deliverables, technical documents, and compliance reports.
  • Work with project managers and architects to meet license clearing requirements.
  • Provide regular status reports to line managers and customers, including risk escalation.
  • Install, upgrade, and manage deployment processes with UrbanCode Deploy (UCD) and collaborate with IBM support when required.

Skills & Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of OSS license management and compliance processes.
  • Experience with Black Duck, Fossology, or similar OSS scanning tools.
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Office, PDF, and report-writing tools.
  • Understanding of software licensing texts and their variations.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) for working with global teams (US, Germany).
  • Good organizational, analytical, and follow-up skills.
  • Experience in open-source community management, contributions, or moderation (preferred).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, or related fields.
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in software development, testing, or license management.
  • Proven experience in software license compliance, OSS tools, and risk management.
