Responsibilities
As a Junior Quality Engineer at Flex Chennai, your responsibilities will include:
- Working with design and manufacturing engineers to define process parameters and ensure supplier capability.
- Supporting supplier approval processes, including risk assessments for manufacturing, technology, and HSE compliance.
- Driving quality assurance during new product launches.
- Following up with suppliers for corrective actions and root cause analysis.
- Reviewing and improving supplier manufacturing processes.
- Promoting continuous improvement tools like Lean, Six Sigma, Poka-Yoke, PFMEA, and MSA.
- Preparing and validating First Article Inspections (FAI).
- Monitoring supplier quality KPIs and escalating issues as needed.
- Assisting in internal and external audit readiness.
- Contributing to data analytics projects for process optimization.
- Documenting inspection results, PPAP submissions, and compliance reports.
- Supporting cross-functional teams for new product development and customer requirements.
Skills & Qualifications
- Education: B.E / B.Tech in ECE, EEE, IC, Mechanical, or Mechatronics.
- Experience: 0–2 years in APQP, PPAP, FMEA in a manufacturing setup (EMS preferred).
- Knowledge of TS16949, quality systems, and measurement techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing concepts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English (mandatory).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and diverse environment.
