Responsibilities
As a Junior Engineer – Supplier Quality at Flex Chennai, your daily responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with design and manufacturing engineers to define process parameters and ensure supplier capability.
- Supporting supplier approval processes, including evaluating HSE risks and manufacturing capabilities.
- Ensuring supplier quality standards during new product launches.
- Following up with suppliers for root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Reviewing supplier manufacturing processes and driving process improvements.
- Promoting Lean, Six Sigma, Poka-Yoke, PFMEA, and other continuous improvement techniques.
- Documenting inspection results and ensuring compliance with control plans and PPAP.
- Monitoring supplier quality KPIs and escalating unresolved issues.
- Supporting audits (internal/external) and readiness activities.
- Driving cost recovery initiatives related to supplier quality issues.
- Preparing and validating First Article Inspections (FAI).
- Participating in cross-functional projects to meet customer requirements.
- Contributing to data analytics for supply chain and quality optimization.
Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who bring:
- Education: B.E / B.Tech in ECE, EEE, IC, Mechanical, or Mechatronics.
- Experience: 0–2 years in APQP, PPAP, FMEA within a manufacturing setup (EMS preferred).
- Knowledge of quality systems, measurement techniques, engineering drawings, and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, TS16949 standards, and quality control systems.
- Strong planning, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English (mandatory).
- Flexibility to work different shifts in a dynamic environment.
