Role Overview

KPMG Global Services (KGS) is seeking an Assistant Manager for the Audit Tax Center of Excellence (CoE) supporting the UK geography. This is a unique opportunity to work with a fast-growing Assurance team, delivering complex audit and tax assurance services across multiple international clients, including UK, Holland, Australia, Switzerland, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, and UAE.

As an Assistant Manager, you will lead junior team members, coordinate with onshore engagement teams, and ensure delivery of high-quality audit work in line with UK GAAP (FRS101/FRS102) and IFRS standards.

Key Responsibilities

Audit Delivery & Quality

  • Support managers in delivering high-quality audit work on tax balances in line with UK GAAP and IFRS.
  • Conduct first review of audit documentation following KPMG Assurance Manual and internal quality standards.
  • Resolve day-to-day issues during engagement delivery and manage multiple requests across engagements.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of junior staff on onshore audit engagements.
  • Act as the Performance Manager, guiding career development and setting training objectives.
  • Track team metrics related to work type, quality, and onshore feedback.
  • Deliver training sessions and work with L&D to address team development needs.

Client Engagement & Business Development

  • Build strong relationships with onshore engagement teams and act as an ambassador for KPMG.
  • Collaborate with senior management and onshore contacts to identify growth opportunities and expand service delivery.

Project & Risk Management

  • Apply structured problem-solving and analytical skills to address audit issues.
  • Ensure high attention to detail while meeting deadlines in a dynamic, shifting environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adherence to KPMG’s risk management policies.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications

  • Chartered Accountant (ICAI, ACCA, or ACA).
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in audit or tax accounting, preferably with a Big 4 firm.
  • Knowledge of audit work over tax balances under UK GAAP (FRS101/FRS102) and IFRS.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
