Key Responsibilities
As a Junior Quality Engineer in Chennai, your day-to-day tasks will include:
- Develop and implement inspection, testing, and evaluation standards.
- Manage quality control procedures for materials, processes, and finished products.
- Support product engineers and quality managers on customer-facing quality issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis and drive corrective actions with suppliers.
- Lead quality audits, product approval processes, and compliance checks.
- Prepare and maintain training materials on quality control practices.
- Analyze reports, review defective/returned products, and recommend improvements.
- Support new product launches to ensure supplier quality meets Flex standards.
- Promote continuous improvement methods like Lean, Six Sigma, PFMEA, MSA, and Poka-Yoke.
- Collaborate with suppliers on manufacturing process improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- B.E / B.Tech in ECE, EEE, IC, Mechanical, or Mechatronics.
- 0–2 years of experience in a manufacturing setup, preferably in the EMS industry.
- Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Lean Manufacturing, TS16949, and measurement techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Good knowledge of manufacturing processes and business systems.
- Proficiency in MS Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in diverse teams.
- Skills in planning, prioritizing, and problem-solving in a dynamic environment.
