Responsibilities
As an IBM Application Consultant – Edge & Network Cloud, you will:
- High-Level Product Development: Draft product specifications, translate into scalable, secure, and maintainable code.
- Technology Advocacy: Promote best practices in network and cloud technology, ensuring efficient development workflows.
- Collaborative Problem-Solving: Partner with global teams to resolve production escalations, optimize system reliability, and implement timely solutions.
- Peer Review & Continuous Improvement: Engage in reviews of code, designs, and technical artifacts to foster collaboration and innovation.
- Client-Centric Delivery: Support enterprise clients with advanced Edge and Network Cloud solutions, enabling seamless hybrid cloud adoption.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in network design, implementation, and administration.
- 5+ years focused on Edge computing and Network Cloud technologies.
- Hands-on experience in cloud computing (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
- Strong understanding of networking protocols: TCP/IP, HTTP/2, routing, switching, VPN, Firewalls, SD-WAN.
- Proven experience in enterprise application consulting.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills & Certifications
- Containerization and orchestration experience: Docker, Kubernetes.
- IBM Edge & Network Cloud platform familiarity.
- Industry certifications: CCNA, AWS Solutions Architect, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of load balancing, network security, and firewall administration.
